What is involved in an E-course
E-courses are another popular Internet marketing product. An e-course is a series of informational and/or interactive articles, usually delivered via e-mail. If you’d like to market an e-course, it is a good idea to sign up for a few free e-courses (there are many available online) to get a feel for how they work.
The free version of e-courses are mainly used in marketing as a form of lead generation and we will cover that when we teach you how to market your business. The paid e-courses are much more indepth.
E-course are built around your niche. They provide valuable information and training resources that the student can read and review. They also usually have assignments and various other forms of homework.
Along with that they may allow direct access to the instructor. So as you evaluate your options for new businesses, remember this and the time requirement it may entail.
E-courses may be simply text. It could be directly in the format of an email or it could also contain pdf and/or word documents. Possibly even online website information may be part of the e-course.
With the advent of audio and video streaming technology, you could also add this to your e-course to make it more personal, and stand out from others in the market. This would give the student a better experience and allow people who learn visually or by listening to make better use of your e-course.
If you’ve written an e-book or developed a new version of a public domain product, the simplest way to create an e-course is to break the book up into several sections and deliver them to customers one at a time, using an autoresponder program.
For an interactive e-course, consider creating a forum and allowing “students”
to enroll. You can post the lessons to your forum and be available to answer
questions, give and grade assignments, or schedule class chats.
