Audio Product Creations Part I

What kind of Audio Products can be Created

Unless you’re an aspiring singer/songwriter, you’ll generally be interested in audio products that fall into one of four categories:

  1. Repackaged public domain material
  2. Audio reseller programs
  3. Teleseminars
  4. Self-created Audio Products.

Public domain audio products are often compilations of songs, movie soundtracks, or radio plays. There are generally two ways to package audio content: CDs and downloadable files. Individual songs work well as downloads, but larger files are often better as CDs. Many home computers come equipped with CD burners, so you can create CDs yourself. You can also outsource CD production and have bulk orders created for you.

There are also audio reseller programs you can purchase. Most audio reseller programs are in downloadable format and used compressed files to decrease download time. These reseller programs come in a wide variety of niches, but it may take some work to uncover them. Often it may be a matter of making an exclusive deal to market an individuals audio product.

Teleseminars are a very interesting and creative way to produce audio content. What is done is to set up an account with a multi-line service that offers tele-seminars. There are many on the market today, and some even provide this service for free. Then you get the material ready for your teleseminar that you will present to the audience and invite or advertise to people to dial in and listen.

The material you present could be simply you talking to the audience, or it could be you either interviewing a guest, or the guest interviewing you. Throughout the teleseminar you could have questions from the audience, although it is usually best to leave questions until the end.

When you are done the teleseminar, the company that offered it to you will then provide you with the recording of the event, and thus you have a product. You could even get paid in two ways with teleseminars. First, if you market it well, and the topic is interesting enough, you could charge people to get on the call. And then the finished product can be sold.

The final way to create an audio product is to create it yourself. With the recent technology this can be done in the comfort of your home. All is needed is a decent quality microphone headset and a good sound card, along with a quiet place to do your recording.

You can present material by yourself, much like a lecturer. Or an easier way, especially for the beginner, is to have someone interview you, or you go find an expert in your niche and interview them. Either way you will have an excellent product that you can now sell to your customers.
